Love Sick: Attachment Anxiety, Perceived Risk, and Cautiousness in COVID-era Romantic Encounters

Welcome to the Self and Close Relationships Lab at the University of New England!

Under the direction of Dr. Julie Longua Peterson, the Self and Close Relationships Lab investigates how explicit (conscious, controlled) and implicit (unconscious, automatic) processes influence how people navigate the ups and downs of intimacy in their close relationships as well as other types of positive and negative interpersonal events (e.g., acceptance, rejection, discrimination).

We use experimental, observational, and experience sampling methodologies to explore these themes.
